In Compact Living six dancers serves kitchen bench surrealism and cleaning router fanaticism in a site-specific dance performance. Themes and movement material is taken from the ensemble's many years of experience in sharing life and its routines with too many people in too little space. In an apartment in Liljeveien in Harstad the audience will, from (apparently) a safe distance in the sofa, take part in the confrontations, negotiations and comedy that occurs in the kitchen in the living community that is Compact Living. Welcome home!

'Simplicity'

Five fun, free performances created especially for the 'American Modernist Garden' by Karen Barbour, Marie Hermo Jensen and Patti Mitchley run Friday to Tuesday in the Hamilton Gardens in New Zealand. This exquisite event compliments the aesthetic of the garden design, creating a visual spectacle to engage and delight audiences. The performance draws inspiration from the simplicity of the garden's modernist design and the everyday aspects of summer living in the back yard. Listen to something cool, dream a little dream and take five to relax back by the pool.

Performed by three experienced modern dancers, Simplicity is an accessible piece of dance for all. This year's performances included former successful festival performances Dancing Through Paradise (2010), What Love Can Do (2008), Fluid Echoes dance (2007) and Home, land and sea (2006).

The performance is presented by Waikato Contemporary Dance Projects Trust.

Våre Vidder - collaboration with Beaivvás

The Saami National Theatre Beaivváš turns 30 years this year, which will be both seen and heard. Beaivvás Sámi Teáhter brings back their first performance ever, the closest you can get to a classic of a Sami rock musical: Våre vidder (Our plains) / My duoddarat. The performance was first shown in 1981 and again in 1983, and now it will be shown in 2011. In this context Stellaris DanceTheatre collaborates and contributes with two dancers. Stellaris DanceTheatre marks its 30th anniversary in 2010-11 and it is thus a double celebration.
