I Hengende Snøre

(Hanging by a thread/fishing line)

A dance performance by Solveig Leinan-Hermo

The coastal community is set as a frame around the choreography, I Hengende Snøre, in which fish and sea are central. The respect for an industry and coastal communities have inspired her to create another performance that involves her own childhood environment.

A variety of emotions that touched on migration from an origin to the present, displayed through dance and movement, words and music set in a visual context. In the centre is humans and fish as part of a nutritional foundation which should make settlement and culture along the coast a possibility. This performance does not discuss the problems in the fishing industry where other forums can illustrate this better, but is a contribution to the topic. The choreographer has been inspired by the start sign "Pisces".

A short version of the performance is used for conferences and festivals.

’I Hengende Snøre’ is shown during the Opening performance during the Jubilee weekend TRÅ DANSEN 70°39′N Friday 4. September 7 p.m. Ole Olsensalen, Arctic Culture Centre.
